Approach
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 15 years of experience helping individuals find growth and better health through therapy. My passion is treating anxiety, depression, and trauma, with significant specialization in perfectionism, body image, disordered eating, relational conflict, pregnancy and postpartum issues.  Additionally, I have training in ADHD and executive functioning concerns.

I utilize a blend of approaches, including mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, EMDR and more.  I consider myself a holistic therapist, which means that I do not assume all issues are psychological. I bring warmth and humor, as well as transparency and directness to my work with patients.

We will collaborate to identify and strategize around your current needs and challenges.  I will help you to learn and utilize the skills and resources that will assist you on your path toward wellness.

Experience
While I am a native Oregonian, I have lived in all 4 corners of the US.  I received my Bachelors of Psychology and Sociology from the University of Oregon.  Prior to my graduate studies, I worked in Human Resources for several years, which provided insight into organizations large and small.  I received my Masters in Counseling Psychology from Pacific University in 2004 and am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Oregon.

Since 2003, I have worked with people who struggle with a wide range of issues.  I have treated patients in a variety of settings, including crisis centers, managed care settings, partial hospital and intensive outpatient settings.  My experience working in two of the largest hospital systems in Oregon helped me to understand the demands that nurses and other healthcare professionals face.

I am trained in the use of many treatment modalities that incorporate mind-body awareness.  These include but are not limited to: Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).  I utilize Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) for a variety of issues.
