Jeffrey takes a collaborative approach to therapy, especially when defining problems and setting goals. Throughout the process, he remains open about his observations and treats each person with respect and dignity.
His practice is built on a fundamental appreciation for the uniqueness of each individual. As a result, he works effectively with people from diverse cultures, lifestyles, sexual orientations, and belief systems.
Jeffrey specializes in helping people address the barriers preventing them from living healthy, meaningful, and satisfying lives. These barriers include such things as anxiety, depression, worry, relationship issues, grief, anger, and trauma.
He believes that lasting change is built on a foundation of balanced and effective self-care, and so he also pays close attention to the impacts of nutrition, substance use, exercise, sleep hygiene, social supports, and pleasurable/meaningful activities.
Jeffrey has worked in private practice since 2006. His work is grounded in interpersonal and cognitive-behavioral psychotherapies, but he has also been influenced by systems theory, ecotherapy, and mindfulness-based approaches.
Jeff’s practice is located in Northeast Portland. Read more about his work at www.drnoethe.com.
